SICK OF THIS
By Seeley James
I am sick of hearing the truth is not the truth
I am sick of a man who can’t spell or speak claiming everything he doesn’t like is fake
I am sick of lies shifting to deeper deceits followed by tirades that ignore the obvious, voracious facts
I am sick of this
I am sick of tax breaks for billionaires that deplete our roads and schools
I am sick of rolling back regulations placed after the economic catastrophe—that we had to pay for
I am sick of hearing wealth will trickle down, yet thirty years later economic disparity has become middle-class despair
I am sick of this
I am sick of elected representatives who have no backbone or moral compass
I am sick of religious leaders who sacrifice their faith for an earthly prince who worships only himself
I am sick of those who read misspelled tweets as gospel and “love thy neighbor” as an optional commandment
I am sick of this
I am sick of hearing the disadvantaged don’t deserve handouts, but stadium owners do
I am sick of brags about nineteenth century jobs while they cut funds for better education in the twenty-first century
I am sick of people asking me to vote for less government when that doesn’t work so well in El Salvador or Libya
I am sick of this
I am sick of a president who thinks there are good people attending racist rallies
I am sick of policies that favor white Christians above three out of ten American-born citizens
I am sick of office holders who dare consider separating refugees and asylum seekers from their babies
I am sick of this
I am sick of a negotiator who gives away everything and gets nothing in return
I am sick of a president who stabs our allies in the back before cuddling up to our enemies
I am sick of a man who surrounds himself with the “best people” who later plead guilty to tax evasion and fraud
I am sick of this
I am sick of the administration denying proven science while legislating unsupported theories
I am sick of hearing a con man using Stalin’s words to label our free press “the enemy of the people”
I am sick of patently false statements presented as truth despite mountains of evidence to the contrary
I am sick of this
I am sick of the USA coming in 31st for life expectancy — behind Costa Rica
I am sick of the only realistic healthcare option being available if I sign up for indentured servitude
I am sick of representatives who destroy our insurance so they can replace it with … with … with …
I am sick of this
I am sick of candidates asking for my vote by telling me they will protect the incumbent from impeachment
I am sick of people running for office who don’t lead with truth, justice, and the American Way: we are ALL created equal
I am sick of contenders who demean their opponents and demand to “lock her up” when they are knee-deep in felons
I am sick of this
I could go on and on, but
What are you sick of?
