My recent poll proved Charlie Fox is a favorite thriller heroine ahead of Katniss Everdeen. Oddly, several well-known and long-standing female leads in thrillers fell below the entry “Still Looking”. Are some of the popular characters like Tempe Brennan, Stephanie Plum or Kay Scarpetta played out? Too much of the same thing? Charlie Fox evolved over the last decade, staying fresh. Perhaps the others have failed to keep up? Are people looking for something new and different?
I’ve been working on a fresh, new type of heroine (click here & scroll down to see a sample). She’s a former soccer star who leads a security company that triumphs over corrupt businessmen and murderous criminals. Her strong personality, will-to-win attitude, decisive leadership, and relentless work ethic separate her from other protagonists. Plus, she can kick some butt when needed.
Why Kickstart This Project?
I am going to release the first Pia Sabel novel independently and am turning to the Kickstarter community to ensure this series has high production values. Backing this project will guarantee a book with finished product quality (editing, design, cover art, and marketing) that will rival that of a traditional publisher. The Editorial Department, a firm serving the literary community for over thirty years, has already provided some valuable services.
With over 1,000 new authors going online at Amazon every month, the biggest challenge is to be heard above the din. Any funds raised above the goal will go toward further development, advertising, and marketing.
